Susan Xia
Pianist
Susan Xia holds a Bachelor of Music (Piano Performance) and a Master of Management from the University of British Columbia. Since starting piano at the age of nine, she has studied with Corey Hamm, Boris Konovalov, Amanda Chan, Patricia Hoy, and Rena Sharon. Susan is actively involved in her community and has performed at many events, including SRABC’s Art After Stroke, VSO Day of Music, Heart of the City Piano Program performances, and the Canadian Music Centre Documentary Film Festival concert. She has also performed Saint-Saëns' Piano Concerto No.2 (first movement) with the Vancouver Philharmonic Orchestra. Susan’s continuing passion for music extends into her teaching of piano and music theory. She enjoys tailoring her teaching style to her students and inspiring them to be creative. As a dedicated musician, she also plays the violin and guitar.
