Emily Richardson
Originally from Calgary, Emily Richardson has a diverse musical skillset with a passion for both early and contemporary music. She has performed with Symphony 21, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra, and National Youth Orchestra of Canada, which she joined for their 2018 tour to Germany and Scotland. Active in the new music scene, Emily has premiered compositions by local Vancouver composers and beyond. She completed her Bachelors and Masters degrees in flute performance at the University of British Columbia under the guidance of Christie Reside, and her Advanced Certificate in Performance at the University of Toronto with Kelly Zimba Lukić.
During her Masters degree, Emily’s love of Bach inspired her to learn the baroque flute, and in 2021, she was a winner of the Early Music Vancouver Scholarship Programme. Since then, she has performed with leading period instrumentalists as part of the Baroque Orchestra Mentorship Programme, a collaboration with the Pacific Baroque Orchestra and Early Music Vancouver.
